THIS COURSE IS ONLY OFFERED AS AN IN-HOUSE (PRIVATE) SEMINAR AND CAN BE CUSTOMISED TO SUIT YOUR SITE REQUIREMENTS.
"Open Pit Dewatering - Pumping & Piping" is a two day pump training course which has been specifically designed for site-based dewatering teams, design engineers and hydrogeologists who are tasked with operating, maintaining, trouble-shooting or designing open pit (mine) dewatering systems. This seminar provides delegates with sufficient training to be able to size, select and trouble-shoot the most common pump types found on mine sites such as: submersible borehole pumps for below water table dewatering operations, in-pit submersible pumps, diesel and electric driven in-pit centrifigal pumps, self-priming centrifugal pumps and horizontal end-suction transfer pumps. The course information also provides relevant tips, traps and techniques for the design, operation and troubleshooting of ancillary equipment as well as piping, valves and pipelines. For example: bore headworks skids, trailer-mounted headworks, riser pipe installation/removal equipment, pressure-relief valves, pressure-control valves, flow-control techniques and much more. Piping materials such as polyethylene, steel and GRP (aka "fibreglass") are showcased as are different riser pipe materials such as flexible hose options.
There are no pre-requisites required to attend this pump course. However, basic pump and pipe calculations and worked example problems will be outlined during the training seminar so it is important that each delegate has a basic proficiency in trades-level mathematics.
A PDF Flyer is available for download (by clicking the button above) which gives more detailed information.
KASA Redberg has been presenting this seminar since February 2013 in site-based training rooms, local (camp) based training rooms, as well as the boardrooms of large mining companies. This course was originally requested by dewatering crews operating in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and has since evolved to provide office-based staff such as hydrogeologists with crucial tips and knowledge.
