At a glance...

  • Two days' duration
  • A comprehensive training manual (not slide print-outs) provided
  • Morning tea and a light lunch included
  • Content includes:
    • Strength of materials, failure theories and all theory necessary to understand the piping codes and standards
    • "Run-throughs" of both piping standards (including AS 4343 for hazard levels)
    • Obtaining relevant material properties and (de)rating factors from the piping codes
    • Pressure design - determining the required wall thickness, design of branches, design of closures, design for vacuum etc.
    • Sustained longitudinal stress design - including weight of the pipe and contents; also includes support spacing determination etc.
    • Sustained plus occasional longitudinal stresses - including earthquake, wind loading and relief valve discharge loading
    • Determining thermal displacement stresses - expansion and contraction
    • Expansion joints and tips for good piping design
    • "Real world" design calculations
